Say, I wonder something: Did you like anything about Esmerelda besides her physical appearance? I mean, you can dye your hair, get a spray tan, and get some contacts, but that doesn't mean you can BE her. You have to capture the essence of a person (even a fictional one) to do that. You didn't mention anything but the most shallow aspects of who and what she is.

Oh man, I loved that movie as a kid. Hell, I'm eighteen and I still adore it. ♥ Nothing wrong with having her as a role model, since in the book she's sixteen so technically she's older.

Quasimodo was such a lovable character. ♥ My suggestion? If you loved the movie, go on YouTube and watch the musical Notre Dame de Paris--you'll enjoy that even more than the movie, though I warn that since it's more accurate to the novel, you'll have different feelings towards Phoebus and Frollo, and you will loooooooove Quasimodo. I'm going to ditto this very hard– it's such an amazing musical– and also suggest you read the book. It may be my absolute favourite book and the characters, especially Frollo, are so much more wonderful in it. Also, it has a bunch of wonderful characters, like Fleur-de-Lys, Gringoire and Jehan de Moulin, that the Disney version does not (the musical does too; actually I like Fleur-de-Lys even better in the musical, La Monture is amazing).

And OP? I'm 18 and Esmeralda is my role model too. Nothing pathetic about it.

Unf, Notre Dame de Paris. I've memorized it by now, and I still love more every time I watch it. ♥ I love "La Monture"--Zenatti does such a superb job with that one, even better than the book. Though I must say that the book is probably one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to read. God, I love Frollo so much from reading it. The confession to Esmeralda where he nearly goes mad? Where he says "strike me with one hand, but caress me with the other"? *sigh* Wonderful. I love the Disney Frollo just because he's such a cruel bastard, but I think it would have been even greater if they'd managed to pull off the real Frollo you pity and adore. But alas, little kids wouldn't really get some of the nuances in his actions. Then again, even "Hellfire" and its theme of lust went straight over my head when I saw it at... I wanna say five or six? Yeah, I definitely didn't get the "LUUUUUUUST" overtones in it O_O
