I liked it, but I prefer the version Kris did.

Anyways, nothing thrilled me more than to hear the original artists were truly touched by his version and apparently spent a while being fannish over him from what I've heard.

I never would have heard that song if it wasn't on AI. I hadn't even heard of the movie, either.

I've listened to the original, after hearing Kris'. Sorry to say, it didn't move me at all. I wish that woman wasn't singing with him, because she's what ruins it for me. I feel like he has a wonderful voice, but I can't hear it because she just overpowers the whole song. I don't like it mostly because of that.

Kris' voice is just more to my liking. It's incredibly smooth and...comforting, if that makes sense. I'm not knocking Glenn, he just doesn't do it for me.

Seriously though, it's a matter of taste and opinion, as to music. It's like the whole thing with Adam's version of Ring of Fire and how it horrified quite a few Johnny Cash fans.

Did I agree with them? No, I love Adam Lambert's version. Do I have an issue that they don't agree? Nope, music has been a matter of taste ever since it first began. I'm not about to tell people what they should like; however, telling someone they suck or fail for having a different opinion is ridiculous.

And why I've stayed out of Nightwish fandom because I had no plan on dealing with the wank over Anette vs Tarja. Partially because I like them both and partially because arguments based solely on ridiculing another persons taste in music is ridiculous. Then again Ridiculing and Ridiculous do both have the same base word so... it fits I suppose.

Even the writers of the song thanked him for singing their song on a tv show watched by 25 million people. They also gave him a signed record of the soundtrack. All of that was out of the blue.
