Because that's not "something you don't want to acknowledge" it's just plain not true.

I don't know about the rest of the comment the whole 'racism-against-white-pepole-is-impossible' thing came from, but that phrase is certainly not true at all.

By racism, I think what anon tried to explain was institutionalized racism which in the Western hemisphere at least, is in favor of Caucasians. Yes, Caucasians have been subject to violent acts/harassment because of their ethnicity, but the institutionally backed racism that is responsible for white privilege is what I find white people getting so defensive over.

Oh. They should have specified then. Because I'll definitely agree that institutionally, it's impossible to say that, for instance, America as a whole is racist against white people.

I just don't think it's right to assume that it's impossible to be racist against white people.

I think that may have been what anon, and possibly OP, were trying to say, but they didn't specify and people jumped to conclusions and yadda yadda yadda.

Ah well, I agree with you on that then. Glad that was cleared up.
