Sorry, I just replied underneath your post, but I guess this is worth asking.

Is there something wrong if it's not just a phase? Not wanting to sound anything, just an honest question.

I don’t think so, really. I mean, like I said in my initial comment, I still tend to primarily read slash as well…

To be honest, I do feel like it’s potentially a bit shallow, sometimes, when someone likes a pairing based only (and oh god, I mean only) on the gender of the characters involved -- but people like what they like.

I think it’s just when we get into a more constant territory of, “Hey, this het pairing would be a GREAT one, if only the characters involved were both gay men,” that I would really start grimacing as I scrolled past.

I say live and let live, since either way it’s not that big of a thing. I wouldn’t want people brow-beating me for liking what I like, so I don’t see a point in doing it myself. It’s just the super-extreme attitudes, or the ones that resort to going around bashing others for not having the same preference, that tend to get me more than anything else.
