I agree and your crossover sounds great but FFS, this shouldn't be a secret. These so-called 'twihards' are not some nebulous barbarian invaders who are going to fly in and attack you and your online space for expressing your opinion. When the fuck did people start making them out to be like the crazy destructive bacchae of the internet anyway? They seem to mostly contain their crazy to themselves so don't be afraid to express a perfectly valid opinion OP. Unless you're doing it to garner attention and are exaggerating the fan behaviour surrounding these books and using your own not particularly revolutionary criticism to make yourself feel all special and insightful.

Rumor mill has it that some of them are a bit intense (http://io9.com/5204316/twilight-fans-stab-choke-and-beat-haters-into-submission). Surely, you can't believe everything you read on the internet, but seeing how high tempers can flare in some fandoms (have you seen the Hetalia and Avatar wank on this comm?!), I would not want to deal with the hate spam, either.

Ugh, yeah, I remember hearing about that attack and firmly putting it out of my memory in order to preserve my faith in humanity.

But I've never actually seen anyone get flamed online for saying that they don't like Twilight or for criticising the books. Not in places where people are actually sane anyway (imdb and youtube are obviously off limits). And fandomsecrets is...well, special. Because while I've seen people jump all over particular threads and get vocal/immature/frothing/stubborn at other members, this is a shared space that allows these kinds of interactions and I don't think people really feel all that threatened that they're going to get that level of response in their own journals. I hope they don't anyway.

All this demonising of the 'twihards' is starting to get old meme and seems to be a pretty lazy way of expressing disapproval about the series through attacking (ad-hominem style) its fans (sane or not) rather than the plentiful supply of bad prose and worse subtext in the books themselves. I feel like people should stop assuming that anyone who likes the books is an senseless idiot with no ability to think or have self-restraint. And being surprised when, by starting off with that assumption in their dealings with actual fans (like the ones the OP might work with), they get cold or dismissive responses makes me think 'what do you expect?' Why should anyone want to to the effort of talking about or justifying their enjoyment to people who already expect them the worst?

Whoa. I did not realise I felt this strongly about it. I guess they're just thoughts that have been building up for a while. Call it backlash against the backlash, if you will. :)

Especially since I doubt the Belmonts would give a flying shit about the Cullens - the Belmont family goes after D-R-A-C-U-L-A largely due to personal grudge and familial duty - hell, if the Cullens were all yay happy good sparkles, the Belmont family would probably applaud them - see: Alucard for further example of a 'good' vampire.

At worst they would have a brutal and bloody bishounen competition (which Alucard would win).
