Disclaimer that I only saw the first movie...

They certainly do some shit. But - skipping the part of how they got that way - being an insanely high-tech nation surrounded by ones that aren't and trying not to destabilise the region just by your existence, is... tricky. Assuming the best of intentions at play - even leaking out a better way of spinning-and-weaving fibre can radically shift economies, not necessarily in good ways.

So it's tricky, especially when your neighbours aren't doing so great. I don't particularly applaud some of the shit Wakanda pulled, but, I thought it was interesting that they explored that question a little bit. And I really loved Nakia in that movie, for finding a way to help the people outside.
