Can't relate. Where I grew up, conservative adults always lost their shit over harmless nonsense, and anybody could draw swastikas without raising eyebrows.

But I knew boys in elementary school who would have been belted for saying "hell" or "damn," instead of completely idiotic euphemisms for those words. And they threw around "gay," "fat," and "retarded" like candy because those were the words no one punished them for using.

The fact that the adults in a place are authoritarian, petty tyrants doesn't mean they're strict about the shit you think they should be punishing.
