Yes! My sister finds girl empowerment songs lame, which I get is a matter of taste. But add on her general attitudes towards comparing herself to other women and being a very critical person, when she was making fun of the song and me for liking the song I feel like it's her internalized misogyny basically saying, "I'm not like other girls who need to tell themselves these 'self empowering' things. I'm better than girls/women who like/identify with things like this."

Thanks nonny! I used to be a very negative person, out of habit just talking down everything automatically. I still catch myself doing it from time to time.
Made a conscious choice to slow down on the negativity because I knew it made me miserable.
When I see my sister reveling in negativity it reminds me of my past self too and I know that's why it bothers me. I know my sister can do better, so it's sad that she refuses. Just one of those things in life...I can only control what I do.
