I'm semi-into music fandoms (mainly Orville Peck, Florence Welch as well as a bunch of emo and goth based ones). I've never gone into RPF - but enjoy the memes/shitposts, edits and fan art on Tumblr.

I suppose it entirely depends on the individual music you're into OP.

I think if you want to find places to talk about music a good place to try test out if there is anyone out there/a community that you can connect with, give YouTube a try.
Maybe try a channel like Todd in the Shadows or Mic the Snare.
See if you like their videos, tastes in music, do they have a podcast (check out podcasts too!!), check out the vibes in the comments (some channels have wonderful comment sections, ymmv ngl), see if the channel has a reddit thread.

I think if you explore a little and find a channel or podcast where you like the vibes it helps you find people to talk to and opens you up to newer things in the music communities.
