I don't think that's toxic at all, I miss when kids' games were still a genuine challenge. I go back to a lot of the games I played as a kid and they still hold up just fine even now that I'm an adult. (The Commander Keen games? I cut my teeth on those as a kid and they're still fun!)

I honestly don't feel like making kids' games super easy does them any favors, because there's no satisfaction in beating something that you can basically just faceroll and you don't actually learn anything from the experience.
