I may need to check this out because I absolutely cannot stand Reid!

I like Reid a lot, but really did not like what the show did with his character. I wish they would've left him as he started... a weird, unabashedly geeky guy who is nurtured and treasured by his colleagues, who struggled with his mentally ill mother but usually found a way through, who looked for and found a mentor and father figure in Hotch. I loved all those things about Reid.

I'm just amused by all the people who kept being like, "So he's going to show up eventually, right?"/"He'll have to show up eventually, won't he?" or things like that. Like, people, if he shows up, trust me, you would know. Either it would've been a surprise appearance which you'd find out about due to all the reactions, or it'd be announced ahead of time. Maybe chill and just wait and see what happens for a change? People did this all the time whenever a character left and they kept wondering if they'd come back (like with Emily), patience is not a virtue with this fandom.

Anywho, I like Reid, too, but yeah, I think the team still managed to work just fine without him this season. They gave some nods where needed, like they've done with most team members who've left over the years, so I thought it was a nice way to try and keep that connection. If he does ever decide to show up someday, cool, if not, that's fine, too - I'm on board with seeing what happens with the team as a whole no matter what, so...

I haven't watched the season yet.

I think they need to have *someone* to fill the Reid-ish role. But it doesn't have to be Reid, and I think also that Reid is at his best when he's more in the background. I've never liked any of the big Reid woobie stories.
