I LOVED that part of The Time Machine

As good a time as any for my soapbox about how many adaptations of the Time Machine can spare the screen time to make the Eloi basically modern humans instead of stunted cattle, but won't include more important parts (like the entire critique of the class system, not the crabs, I mean)

Oh man, yes. Each adaption has a message, but a different one from the movie. The original adaption is themed around the cold war and nuclear weapons. The more recent adaption is about climate change I believe. Good messages and all, but I wish they'd do an adaption that stuck closer to the original book.

Hmmmmm on the one hand, that's a really clever idea. On the other hand, a lot of movie adaptations are so bad I'm afraid I'll get turned off the original version entirely.
