What is everyone doing?

I'll be watching my niece tomorrow so my nephew can go see a movie with his friends. And I'll be finally finishing the bottom half of the bear I am crocheting. FINALLY.

Mom is travelling, so have house to myself. Getting a massage tomorrow. Maybe going to the zoo sunday. Other than that, lots of sleep.

I love that you watch them so often! (Or often as it seems to a random F!S passerby.) I have really fond memories of staying with extended family as a kid.

My housemate is traveling this weekend and won't be back until Tuesday. I have the house to myself for the first time in forever and I am glorying in the solitude! I love her, but I also love alone time. The weekend is supposed to be lovely so I'll probably do a lot of yard work, which is my happy place lately.

Yeah, they are over every day after school since my sister works 20 minutes away and doesn't get off until 5. And during the summer, they are here all day. It can be a bit tiring. :p

Enjoy the alone time, it is already nice. What kind of yard work?

I work with kids and enjoy it yet it is still tiring, so I get it.

Always fiddling with the gardens. I've got some weeding to do, some bushes to trim and invasives to see if I can dig up or at least somehow moderately control. I'm also planning to transfer some of the early Spring bulbs - I'm trying to slowly turn the hellstrip into perennials so I don't have to mow it.

Well, I've got two new rabbits settled in my house as of this morning, so I will probably be sitting and watching them in adoration a lot.

Also both Monday and Friday were days off work this week and I'd intended to spend them working on cosplay... but since I spent Monday making Oscar's last day as comfortable as possible, and then Friday picking up and settling Gremmy and Perla, both "cosplay days" turned out to be "bunny days". No regrets about either, but hopefully this weekend I can make some of the progress I did not make on Monday and Friday.

Are they rescues? I know you've rescued some before. Sorry about the loss of Oscar. :(

Yes, I've actually started semi-working-with the rescue group that rescued my most recent bun, and (as is always the case after Easter, but there are some other weird things going down now) they've had a sudden influx of buns and are desperately in need of fosters. So I was like "Well this enclosure I have is not ideal, but it's a safe place that a bun or two could live for awhile" so I was asked if I could take these two bonded girls who have been at the shelter/foster homes for ages, adopted once and returned because they never left their pen, and hadn't been fostered for a while because every time they move to a new place they go into stasis and don't eat until they've been through some treatment. But if they could be placed somewhere, their current area could be split in half and there would be room for more buns to rescue.

And, well, I'm used to dealing with stasis. If they're too timid to explore then it doesn't matter that I just have an enclosure for them. So okay.

Except when they got to my house, they immediately wanted to explore, and started eating on their own. XD So this may not be a foster situation, they seem to like it here, and I don't really want to put them through the stress again if they're doing better here than they have anywhere else yet.

And Oscar... yeah, his loss was so recent and non-traumatic that I keep looking to the usual places expecting to see him. And having different buns where I expect to see him doesn't actually help with THAT, but knowing that I am helping some more buns the same way I helped him... that is a good thing, even though I'll always miss him.

That's really awesome. Do rabbits not get territorial or mean around new ones?

Oh, some of them certainly do. I'm keeping the new girls separated from the four who have BEEN living here, because while they apparently used to live in a "colony" of several other girl buns and have been in a shelter situation for a long time, the smells/sounds of other rabbits probably doesn't bother them so much. But my other buns who have been either by themselves or came from overcrowding situations? A couple of them can get pretty aggressive if another bun comes near "their territory". Any introductions will be slow and cautious. ;)

Will you show us your bear when you're done? I love crochet and wish I were patient in learning. ;3;

This weekend is going to be pretty chill. My local board game store delivered on my Warhammer 40k: Ashes of Faith preorder so I'm probably going to be building little mans lmao.

Oh! But I do have a tattoo appointment tomorrow. An apprentice at one of the local tattoo shops is offering free flashes and I was like ope, let me get in on this lmao.

I also have literally dozens of propagated baby plants who have grown really nice roots and should be in some dirt. :)

I shall! But it will take forever because it is like Fine Yarn so the stitches are so tiny!

That sounds super fun. Do you paint all your own minis? I don't have the patience for that unfortunately.

Yes! I really enjoy painting minis although it can sometimes be really frustrating. XD; I have a huge pile that I need to get paint but, you know. They're like reading books! I'll get to them all eventually.
