Do you have a window in your room? Instead of a traditional curtain rod you can put a wooden (or other strong material) rod and have hanging plants from it!

I do! https://i.imgur.com/v8Egi3N.jpg

I've actually been looking into those but I am worried about how much weight they can hold. I think I would need to stick to smaller plants and pots. I also thought of doing some air plants in some small holders on some other walls.

DA

You can also hang plants off clothing racks. They're pretty sturdy.

I've not looked at clothing racks, but I have thought of using a coat rack since they can get pretty stylish.

Oh that's a great window. Ideally what you need is a new piece of furniture that sits right below the window and you can just fill it with pretty plants! As for the curtain rod type deal, just make sure you anchor the holders (idk what they're called specifically) and that they are sturdy material (like no aluminum that might bend) and it should be fine. But yeah, a legitimate concern.

Another option would be to get some fun vining plant like a Pothos, hang it on one side and train the vine to go all along the curtain rod or even just nails or something around the window. Feels like a lot of greenery, but lightweight and only one or two actual plants.

I'm living vicariously through you because I had to give away all of my plants when my friend moved in because they have severe anxiety about their cats eating the plants and then death. I miss all my houseplants.

I did think about getting a vining plant and trailing it. My sister is propagating me one now.

Thankfully my cats don't bother plants. They've never really been interested in them. There are some good cat friendly plants you could get.

I've lived with so many cats over the years, these are the first ones that go straight to destruction mode with plants! It's wild.

I tried a few cat friendly plants, which they ate and even though they are cat friendly my friend still had massive anxiety about it. I miss my plants and am sad to live in a house with no greenery, but I think her peace of mind trumps that sadness.

Have you thought about air plants? You can literally just attach them to a wall with these. https://a.co/d/5LRa2kQ Should be safe from cats unless they know parkour.

Omg I'd never seen those air plant holders! That is so fun.

Yeah, I think I am going to use them to create an art/plant wall.

Also, if you are in the market for air plants, this is the site everyone was suggesting to me for purchasing them. https://airplanthub.com/
