....Yyyep. XD I asked around since I'm way late to the game, and at the time had been to exactly one con since I started playing (approximately two weeks after I started playing, so I didn't know who any of the characters were except Tataru at the photoshoot I watched from the sidelines). So I was like "I'm sure Haurchefant gets cosplayed a lot, right? Because everyone loves him, right?" And I was told that it's actually pretty rare, sometimes you get a casual Haurchefant cosplay at cons and everyone goes nuts, but not a lot of people do the canon armor.

And well. I'd been looking for an excuse to try making chainmail since my teenage years, and HERE WE ARE.

I mean, he deserves so much love. And if I can show that love by cosplaying him, and manifest other people's love for him by showing up at photoshoots and giving everyone hugs and warm drinks? It will honor him. <3

Edit: For reference. I still have SO MUCH left to do, but I am pleased with the parts that I've gotten done. Putting my all into this tribute. :D

Aaahhh, that is so good! You look great; I showed my partner (who has been in love with Haurchefant since he first showed up) and they audibly gasped. It might be a pain to wear but it looks excellent. :) Haurchefant is such a sweetie, he deserves so much more cosplay!

Ahhh, thank you, that is the best reaction I could hope for really. I just really want to find those fellow Haurchefant appreciators and make them smile and, if they want to hug Haurchefant and be hugged by Haurchefant, make that happen. :D Because yes, he is a sweetheart and I myself wanted very badly to hug him a lot. <3

And hahah it's not so much a pain to wear as a pain to put on and take off. Really drives it home why knights have squires. (And I haven't even gotten the plate armor parts on, or the mail for the leggings!) The weight of the chainmail is considerable, but evenly distributed enough that it's actually more comfortable than wearing, say, a backpack full of stuff. Just, uh, you have to hold it out in front of you and lift it over your head and adjust it into the right position with just your arms to get it there first...
