I mean, why not? Not OP but Mayberry was a pretty quaint happy little place where nothing too terrible happened and the police were friendly and helpful and people looked out for one another.

I feel like even though it's set in a time that wasn't really queer friendly, Mayberry would be the type of town that would be the exception and nobody would blink an eye. Fictional happy little town with everything one might need.

I'd love to live in Mayberry too, but somehow I don't think they would be able to get past the me being Jewish part.

You’d probably be fine as long as you were willing to put up with the annual “very special episode” where everyone learns about Judaism and then shows up at your house with homemade dreidels or something.

Right? Like the more I think about it, the more I can't imagine genuine hatred in Mayberry. Maybe I wouldn't have a community of my own people, maybe I'd be the only person like me they've got around those parts, but dammit, Sheriff Andy would look out for me.
