Re: Longest Favorite Movies?

Definitely a mix of musicals and action movies thanks to my parents lol:

Demolition Man
Total Recall
Blade
The Court Jester
The Marx Brothers A Night at the Opera
Singing in the Rain
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Also Comedy of Terrors - because that was the movies that introduced me to Vincent Price and my eternal love for his movies.

Total Recall has gone in and out of love for me. I thought it was hilarious when I watched it as a kid. Then I went through a stage in my teens or twenties where I hated it, and now I'm pretty much back to finding it hilarious.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers!!!!!!! Nobody ever knows that movie, or they hate it. That and The Princess Bride were the two VHS tapes my parents bought when we first got a VCR, and for a long time were the only movies we had. Objectively I know that movie is sexist and ridiculous, but it will forever have a place in my heart. I sing random songs all the time, and Bless Your Beautiful Hide and Goin' Courtin' pop up in my singing a lot.

Lol yes! I can understand the hate for it - but the music is so good and I love the dancing in the barn-building scene :'D

The barn building scene is amazing, with their brightly colored shirts and weird aggressive dance off. Gosh I love that silly movie.

The Court Jester! Oh man yes! (Duck Soup is my personal Marx Brothers movie but you really can't go wrong with any of them-- honestly, our lists are very close to the same, thanks to my dad)

I like Duck Soup a lot better than Night at the Opera

I think I need to watch Duck Soup again. I think Night at the Opera is a default for me because that was the one I had on vhs throughout my childhood and the first dvd out of the rest of the Marx brothers movies - so I watched it A LOT.

don't have one fave but that is a great song--and IMHO Donald O'Connor was just as good a dancer as Gene Kelly
