Heh I didn’t see your comment until after I recced it but tbh this thread is the first I’ve ever heard of any Discworld fans supposedly loving it. It’s just not a very Discworld book while still including all the lore from it. Fans weren’t happy when it came out and even today it gets trashed in fandom spaces constantly. It’s also the most popular Discworld book for people who don’t like the most popular storylines, which is why I recommended it. I wish I’d ever encountered the parts of the fandom that supposedly revered it because it was and is the best book he ever wrote.
