That's a shame. It made me more interested. As much as I love the ideas and energy coming out of the other trailers, the idea of spending 2 hours in Barbieland sounded like torture to me. Barbie transported to the real world (and punching assholes)? YES PLEASE.

This. That plot twist made me be more interested in the movie than seeing the same scene (?) over and over for 2 hours.

I am convinced it takes place in this same universe as the Lego movie.
CONVINCED!

Yeah, kind of a downer. It looks like it's either going to be a lot of fun or a complete mess. I don't plan on giving Barbie any of my money, but I kind of do look forward to the reaction wave that's coming.

The Barbie movie is the first movie in years (way before the pandemic) that I actually want to see in cinema. The real-world aspect was already hinted at in an earlier trailer and I wasn't a fan of it then, but after seeing more of the real world scenes actually made me even more excited.

I can't understand why people are interested in a Barbie movie at all but I guess Barbie dolls have shitloads of fans out there.

I've never cared the slightest bit about Barbie one way or the other before, but I am really interested to see what Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie can do given such an iconic piece of Feminine Americana to explore and interrogate. I trust them to take that weird pink NOS, turbocharge their pink car, and drive to very interesting places with a lot of verve, and I want to see it.

THIS. I had a Barbie as a kid, mostly she got kidnapped and tied up by my sister's Ken. I wasn't a big fan, it was just a thing to do.

But this movie looks fun as hell, and I adore Margot Robbie, so....
YES.

This is basically me, too. Never played with them as a kid, was occasionally amused by my best friend's barbies who only seemed to exist to be tortured and gang-raped by her ninja turtles (the other available dolls) but I guess it's one of those YMMV things.

Ha! One of my friends had a whole bunch of Barbies and we would pretend they were all wealthy and had boyfriends and would drive to the beach and they were all prostitutes (most of the storylines were stolen from soap operas).

I had Barbies, but I also had a (knock off?) Barbie family called The Hart Family. Mr. Hart cheated on Mrs. Hart and left his wife and kids for Jem (Yes, the truly outrageous one) because the Hart Family had a car and Jem wanted a car.

This movie sounds like fun. *shrugs*

I wasn't interested at all until the teaser trailer/scene dropped where she steps out of her high heels and still has the Barbie feet. That tickled my funny bone, so I watched the other trailers and now I'm interested. It just seems like a fun movie.

I'm kind of dissapointed as well. I expected all the movie to be in the Barbie world, but be ironic and clever with that. And not annoying. But putting Barbie in a real world feels like such an obvious way to do in the movie that I lost all the interest.

I don't know I love Barbie with an existential crisis. That's meta within and without.

I'm not the biggest Barbie fan, I appreciate the asthetic of the Barbie brand though. I'm a bit meh about the fish out of water/going to the Real World angle of the film, but I'll still go watch.
