I often find misheard lyrics more interesting than what the song originally said. These sound fun.

My misnomer from this song is that I thought the line "When you're not looking, she's stealing your best yacht" was "When you're not looking, she's stealing your Basquiat," like she was stealing a big painting instead. So. Solidarity. (And now we have a story about rival model art thieves kinda!)

SA - mondegreen, not misnomer 🤦

No, you were right, it is Basquiat!

AYRT - Wait, really? That's what I get for not googling things before I assume. Thank you for validating me! XD

I saw this in the secret thread and sent to listen to the song straight away. Ironically, I understand the lyrics clearly, way better than with most songs.

Someone mentioned that they're Italian. I'm not but I'm from a nearby European country and I wonder if it's simply because pronunciation between Italian and my native tongue is somewhat similar, so I easily parse their English when a native speaker might struggle with the accent. I wonder if someone from France understands their English just as clearly.

Possibly. I'm from Italy and when I speak English with people from France they always tell me my English is very understandable. Aside from my accent, which is not very strong but is still there, I think it's the words ans sometimes almost broken grammar we tend to use.
On the other hand, English with heavy French accent for me is almost gibberish... I really don't understand French and I kind of dislike the language (sorry).
