Was it a great piece of literature? No, obviously not and it never once pretended otherwise. Was it anywhere near as bad as you act? Nope. Especially not in this smug condescending "totally objectively bad" way you so love. You didn't like it, boohoo, go read a novel you do like instead of jacking your hateboner until it blisters.

Personally don't care if this drama ever comes out because I don't care about dramas in general and heavily censored and genderbent adaptations in particular but damn. Get a hobby/something you enjoy instead of pissing all over something other people do enjoy.

If you didn’t like the story or the characters, why were you interacting with the fandom?

I was hesitant to read it before because I knew what kind of stuff was in there (I'm not put off by dark things, but knowing the protagonist being the source of those things was kind of off-putting) but then the official translation came out and I gave it a shot and... well it DOES include all these things I knew about but I also got oddly into it? I will continue to read and be entertained... and kinda wanting the show to come out just to see how the HECK they could cut and cobble something together that can be aired!?

I don't really have any skin in this game because I've never read the novel (and likely won't) and only had a mild curiosity about the live action adaptation because so many people were interested in it. But (and I realize this isn't necessarily a popular opinion in that fandom) I also thought Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation was kind of crap, especially the romance part. But I enjoyed The Untamed, so I don't rule out enjoying the live action adaptation of a BL despite censors, poorly written canon material, etc.

I'm sure you're completely unbiased in believing your character hate was polite and reasonably given. Why would people even know you hated the characters to ask why you hated them? Certainly not because you were out there yelling that you hated them, I'm sure.

Now, that part might depend.

I got quite tired at certain ages of having people want to know if I'd watched [a popular thing], and then either want to know why not, or go full speed into a chaotic discussion of how they felt about it, if I knew what it was. "Yes, I know it but no, kindly don't immerse me in how into this you are ..." could be a tricky conversation to have.

Shrug. I liked the book, but after watching Till the End of the Moon, I do not have any kind of hopes for the drama.

The story isn't *tidy*, it's rife with horrible, horrible people, and if you can't show that on screen then you lose a lot of its energy.


OP, out of curiosity - what did you dislike about the story? General darkness? Leads who had some intensely unlikeable character traits? General plot issues?

I love 2Ha, Mo Ran and Chu Wanning. They're horrible and messy and utterly fascinating. It's a very, very entertaining trainwreck
