Same. Which is not to belittle the genuine issue of racism within fandom and the OTW... but the 'renaming fic titles' thing just smacks of self-congratulatory "look at me" bullshit from people who think it's more important to be Seen than to actually do anything.

But then, given that the loudest voices in this campaign are more interested in defending their One Black Friend (TM) rather than listening to actual voices from actual POC who happen to disagree with them, what did we expect?

The people behind the campaign also have a long history of harassing and bullying other fans, including fans of color, for disagreeing with them and for writing pairings they don't like.

Stitchmediamix in particular has a long and storied history of being racist to anyone who disagrees with them (though this is notably not them this time! just someone who loves licking their boots). I believe Stitch is not directly involved with the campaign, but they're basically the only person cited on the campaign website, and everyone involved in the campaign is fiercely defensive of Stitch's right to harass anyone they want to.

It's also notable that the campaign only started after AO3 finally implemented blocking and muting so authors could block and mute people who were harassing them.

Ugh, this. I got my dumbass hopes up that this time people would finally see the pattern to her antics, but all I've seen has been Stitch defenders vociferously circling the "they're not racist, YOU'RE racist" wagons.
