Even so, the fans writing and reading those things are doing it because they like it, and it does something for them that it doesn't do for you or me. They aren't doing anything wrong and they aren't doing it to spite you. I also think a lot of the people heavily into that are either quite young, or new to fandom.

Personally, I'd be more into that part of the fandom if there were more kinky fucked up Dark Lord Kylo, and less woobie Kylo and less redeemed Ben Solo.

Of course. But I think that logic applies just as much to criticizing Reylo fandom for woobifying Kylo and talking about genocide and everything. *And* I think it's kind of inaccurate about how Reylo is written. The woobie Kylo stuff is at most one part of the Reylo thing.

Personally, I'd be more into that part of the fandom if there were more kinky fucked up Dark Lord Kylo, and less woobie Kylo and less redeemed Ben Solo.

In terms of my own personal preferences, if that's what we're talking about, I would want Kylo to be much more of a woobie outside of sex, and also much more kinky and weird. Neither fluffy woobie Kylo nor generic male dom Kylo are that interesting to me.

Meanwhile, generic awesome lady domme Rey is not interesting to me. I'm just tired of the people who are into that loudly insisting that they are the only ones Doing Fandom Right and shitting on anything and everything that doesn't cater specifically to them. (Not that I think you're doing that here, but it's where I'm coming from.)

TBH I'm starting to think that the problem with Reylo isn't that everyone has the same take on the material; it's that, whatever take people have, they find a way to turn it hacky and boring and cliched somehow.
