The BBC is rebooting The Famous Five again, and I wish they wouldn't. The source material is so far roved from modern society it makes no sense except as a period piece, and even then it was well dodgy

Wow, I didn’t know they were doing that. Even the bits of Good Omens that kind of riff on that genre didn’t really work. I can’t see a straight adaption going any better.

From your lips to God's ears. I mean, if only. Really, that is about the only thing which could save it, but I doubt the BBC have that sort of moral courage in this day and age.

Thing is, even if they did it they'd probably change nothing else and then it would be just performative and still suck.

Or rather, if it inevitably failed, people would chant "get woke go broke" at them because clearly, the trans kid is the reason it sucks. AND the BBC would have an excuse to go "see, people don't want this so we won't do it anymore".
