It does feel like Devil May Cry-esque games, down to the men's designs and darker-and-grittier (cough, "more realistic") atmosphere/colors not to mention the battle systems (ugh) My brain just sort of lumps dark 3D action games together since I can't play them due to motor and vision processing issues and I hate that even Final Fantasy is going that way now.

Probably too late for you to see this anon, but in case you’re still checking… Man, I’m sorry to hear that. I struggle with the dark 3D fantasy games as well - not to the same level as it sounds like you do, but I find them really difficult to play. (Not least because that “dark” description is often completely literal - pls put some colour and contrast back in games… ;__;) It’s one of the reasons I gravitated towards FF in the first place, since it was a style of combat that I both enjoyed and found much easier to play through. It really feels like FF is losing the elements that made its entries a Final Fantasy game in favour of following trends set by other mega-popular series.
