I know we are not supposed to send fanworks to creators, for sound legal reasons like they then can't do it or risk being sued. That's why I do it. If an author or a writer looks like they are heading down a path I don't like, I write a short crappy fanfic using the premise that I don't want them to take and send it to them in the hope it will head the idea off at the pass. It has never worked, not even once.
