I did not much like that as a plot device. I suppose there was an amount of cleverness to it, but it seemed a contrived way to introduce yet another moral dilemma and justify Miguel's aggression.
Overall, the film felt like it was trying to do too much at once. I quite enjoyed the first in the series; it had a tight focus and allowed the story to develop. The sequel felt frenetic in the negative way I associate with the "main" Marvel movies; it is unpleasant for my slower-paced brain.
