Hispanic female characters with lesbian parents can be poorly written, or poorly acted.

I can see what you're saying (and I haven't seen this movie, so I don't really have a personal opinion on the character), but I'm also averse to what has felt like a kind of tokenization to me. I want characters who look like me, yes, but I want them to be good characters, who've been written with the same care given to the standard white man. Otherwise, it feels like being thrown table scraps and told, "we fed you, didn't we? Stop complaining," if that makes any sense.

Yeah, token characters are annoying.
