Their oldest child's wife is pregnant, so I guess that's where the "And Counting" part comes in.

That, and the fact that Michelle Duggar is basically nothing more than a brood mare/clown car/incubator. They're working on #19 last I heard and don't plan to stop anytime soon.

Saying that she is "nothing more than a brood mare/clown car/incubator" is pretty insulting. Have you seen how well organized and managed those kids are? I think she is quite remarkable.

That's really quite rude. She doesn't rely on the government to pay for her children, and she does a remarkable job keeping them well-behaved and under control. I think she's incredible for being able to manage that large of a family. They don't just have more children without being able to afford it, so my thing is that as long as they're able to afford the children (unlike Octomom, who just pops 'em out and expects to get lavish treatment as a reward), there's no problem with it. The children seem to enjoy having a large family, so it obviously hasn't damaged the children.

It's not about being able to pay the bills and corral the herd. The planet's long since passed its carrying capacity for the basics, and if everyone wants to live like Americans do, we're even more screwed. Unless they're producing their own energy, their own oil, their own fresh water, their own parking spots and places on the highway, and their own other resources they're eating up, they're beyond irresponsible and the entire planet will be paying for their irresponsible overbreeding asses for decades to come. A few more families like them, and we'll be down to China's one-kid policy world-wide just to not die of starvation and thirst. And looking at them, I'm not sure that's such a bad thing. Let's see if you're cheerleading their choices in 10 years when we're down to rationing a gallon a week of water and gas is $20 a gallon.

I'm not saying that everyone should do it. Especially in this economy, and just in general, most people are lucky to be able to afford having two children--I doubt that there will be a dramatic increase of people choosing to go the same way with childbearing as the Duggars.
