Since when? A find a number of my platonic friends sexually attractive. They aren't mutually exclusive.

Barring that, loving someone romantically =/= not being friends with them. Most of my ships come from friendships, including het, slash, and femmeslash. I couldn't care less if a violate the oh-so-sacred idea of fictional bromance.

I have no problem with fanon, but to say it's "OMG CANON!" when it isn't is frankly delusional. That goes for any genre:Slash, FemmeSlash, or Het.

So? Not showing any interest in males canonically does not exclude the possibility. My point is that they're not canonically straight, but they've shown canonical interest in women. There is a difference.

And I'm not trying to argue that it's ZOMG canon. I don't even ship it. I just find this idea that male friendship is this sacred bond that should never be defiled by TEH SLASH GOGGLES pretty damn ridiculous.

It would be the exact same thing if a homosexual male, who was friends with a straight female, were said to be *CANON*. This has nothing to do with "SLASH GOGGLES" and more about people refusing to realize their "canon" is nothing more than "fanon"

You do realize that canon only encompasses what's shown in the series, right? Which means that any speculation beyond that is, in fact, "fanon" (or your definition of it).

Everybody has their own fanon, including you. And your interpretation of canon (i.e that which is shown on screen, and that alone) is not necessarily more valid. As long as we can all agree that canon is what it is, and anything that we believe is inferred by "subtext" is, in fact, fanon, I'm happy.

Let me repeat you, since you yourself don't grasp this.

YOUR experience=/=everyone's. Just because YOU are sexually attracted to some of your friends doesn't mean everyone is.
