Re: What are your favorite milk alternatives?

Pure A2 cow's milk doesn't give my brother any problems, while A1 (which is pretty much any kind that doesn't specify it's A2 only) milk sometimes makes him sick. My wife often can't deal with cow's milk, but she tolerates goat's milk perfectly: it tastes a little stronger and has more vitamin A.

If you're looking for plant milks, IME almond milk is the most flavorful and coconut milk makes the velvetiest baked desserts. In everything where you don't really need a "dairy" taste, you just need a substitute ingredient, overnight-soaked cashews are low fuss and can be pulverized even in a weak blender. But I've heard of people developing tooth complaints on vegan diets that they attribute to overconsumption of nuts and seeds via imitation milks, because it's easy to drink a higher volume of nuts than you would eat. Especially if you miss milk products. Something to watch out for.

The only imitation milk I outright avoid is soy. It tastes synthetic and upsets my stomach. Hope this helps.
