I mean, I do. I produce fan content for free, but I have *also* put out original content for free.

Not OP, just saying, some people do.

I don't mind a certain amount of monetizing from youtubers-- if what they create is long-form video content that requires a lot of editing, then as long as it's not betterhelp I'm fine. I don't mean to make the argument that no one SHOULD get paid, they should. Just that a lot of us put out stuff without thinking about money.
