I miss consistently being able to retain a sense of anonymity when interacting on online.

I miss when criticism wasn't seen as taboo. People used to 'spork' fics or blogs, and that was typical. Sometimes it was harsh, but mostly is was in good faith and seen as an opportunity to improve. Rarely did it devovle into the doxxing and harassment campaigns seen today.

I miss when content wasn't subject to corporate approval. Particularly the sort of censorship that takes place on platforms like tiktok makes me deeply concerned. That shit has long term consequences on language and communication.
