I love behind-the-scenes media stuff like this - learning what a familiar sound effect is called and being able to poke the internet about where it came from, etc. Fandom is one of my go-to's for neat technical details.

I get that it's a thing for a lot of directors to put into their films, as an homage or an Easter egg or just for the hell of it, but in certain types of movies, it can totally abate the building tension for a scene. Like, yeah, it totally works in Spaceballs, but in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers? That one's a no for me.

You should watch the first couple seasons of Primeval. I had a count going of how many times they used it lol
