Yeah. Especially when it's the kind of person who assumes others have something tragically missing from their life and it's their solemn duty to fill that gaping hole.

Media does not make a person happy. It makes a person entertained. The collapse of capitalism makes a person happy.

Global economic collapse generally doesn't make the people who survive it all that happy either, even if it may turn out better for their descendants overall.

It's not like capitalism will collapse with nothing to replace it. Once the bribes are gone, we can get back to actually solving problems.

DA maybe you are using "collapse" in a different way than I would but it doesn't sound like a harmless process to me

da

But I like the way you think.

I don't know, maybe this isn't what you meant, because it's not watching more of X, but I used to force myself to watch and read things just because they were popular, even if I wasn't personally interested in them. Now I only watch and read stuff that actually interests me, even if no one's ever heard of it or it's widely hated/considered crappy, and I'm much happier.

(Not trying to be all hipster ~I hate everything that's popular because I'm so much better than everyone else~ because I do like some popular things, but there are also popular things I just have zero interest in.)

I completely understand why people say this (like, sometimes people get REALLY pressed about the thing they're watching not being something completely different that does exist) and I also completely understand why people get annoyed with it.

That being said, I DO think that the annoying people who don't understand how to be in an audience at concerts would be more well-adjusted if they went into a big-ass metal pit. Maybe you'll be a little more considerate when you've been tossed around and put your life into the hands of the most cooperative, safety-conscious audience out there.
