Kind of based on 9

What sequels do you think ruined a character (or their relationships?). Or just ended up disappointing you.

The third Mummy movie that absolutely does not exist.

But if it did hypothetically exist the way the movie ruined the relationship between Alex and his parents, but also made him 1000x whinier as an adult than he ever was as a kid? Jonathan was there to just be there and did nothing else. No Ardeth bay, like come on what? I liked the villain but everything else about it felt like a disjointed mess from the first two movies and what these characters were like.

But of course, it doesn't exist.

Alien 3. Just...killing everyone at the beginning was so fucking stupid.

This isn't one sequel but I hate every time Joss Whedon was in charge of Captain America characterization. He's just the worst.

+1 on Cap. He commits a felony in the first ten minutes of his first movie, and Joss has him correcting people on curse words??

Right? Yeah, the guy who grew up in an extremely poor neighborhood and then went to war in the 40s would not want people to say bad words. Okay.

And that stupid fucking "There is only one god" bullshit. And calling some guy who is probably his age "son". Ugh. Steve was around 20 when he woke up from the ice. Just because he was "alive" for 70 years doesn't make him an old man.

Exactly. He wasn't there for the 70 years! He was still a kid.

The second Pacific Rim movie. It just seemed so hostile to everything that went before.

I can barely even remember what happens in it honestly, what I do recall however was it killing Mako Mori off unceremoniously and immediately hating it for that.

I only bits of it when my brothers were watching it on TV years ago and...what sequel? There's only one Pacific Rim movie.

The Rise of Skywalker ruined everyone.

Hard agree on anon above about the supposed Mummy 3 which totally doesn't exist.

Captain America 3 ruined a lot of characters.

Captain America 3 would’ve worked better as a general Avengers movie

The sequel to "The Flight of the Heron".ere should have been a whole lot more about Keith Windham. Yes, the first book is perfect, including the ending, but Ewen should have been even more devastated than he was in "The Gleam in the North" and we should have seen him learning a lot more about Keith's early years from the people who loved him. DK Broster dropped the ball on that one.

Star Trek Discovery ruined Spock, that is fer damn sure. Ruined him so bad they had to make an entire new sequel-sequel series to fix fucking Discovery. God, Star Trek Discovery sucked. It will be the job of whoever gets the job of executive producer after Kurtzman, the worst Trek exec producer, even worse that Berman and Hurley (they arguably sucked worse as people, since although they weren't fucking 9/11 truthers they were abusive bastards, but as exec producers the worst you could say about them is they made Trek boring), to write Discovery out of canon entirely somehow. Especially the whole Andromeda-lite season.
