I have such a guilty love for that song and it's kind of weird to see people actually deem it popular again after years of facing derision for liking it. Although, since we're doing the pimp thing, my favourite rendition of the song has to be by the random residents of Seattle who decided to party on election night 2008:

Yes! Especially when it's spontaneous. It's like everything I love about musicals without the backstage construction: people having this surge of communal feeling and letting it burst forth in SONG! It'll always make me happy...as long as it's not caused by the summoning of a tap-dancing hell demon and the breaking out into song thing doesn't make participants spontaneously combust.

Music when used correctly is one of the most effective emotional tools, imo. Don't be ashamed for loving it even though you don't traditionally like "musicals".

There's always one show/musical out there that you won't expect to like, but it surprises you. =)
