I'll probably go see it, but I'm not happy with what I've heard so far. One thing I loved about Freddy was his sarcastic wit. His mouth is what made me love him. I heard that this Freddy is intended to be more 'scary' and 'quiet' :|||

idk, maybe I'm afraid they are going to make it like every other remake nowadays. I am a 70s to early 90s horror fan, so I am always a little skeptical about remakes. XD

Oh, I completely understand your fears for the remake.

I guess being a fan of Jackie I like to think he wouldn't be involved in it if it was utter crap XD He did say he was a fan, and the way he usually invests himself with the characters he plays, I'd think he wouldn't let them butcher Freddy too much.

I think he will do a fantastic job. But of course, I'm biased XD

Now I remember where I read it, at the Paltinum Dunes blog:

Oh, and the one quote/interview that got me really excited:

The reason no one's interested is because he's a shitty villian. How pussified is it that he only kills once you're asleep? LAME. He was scarier in flashbacks.

No offense, OP. I loved the first one, for the lulz, and Freddy v. Jason was fun. I just think he's a pathetic villian, is all. :/ He wears a Christmas sweater, for Christ's sake.

lol I think the concept is pretty awesome but I don't think they really exploited it the right way.

I've always been a big fan and I'm also a huge JEH fan.

It's interesting how everyone says a big part of Freddy is his wit. I agree, I loved that aspect of Freddy. This movie is a remake of the first though and in the first movie Freddy didn't actually talk too much so I don't see what everyone is getting all upset about.

I'll reserve my judgement for when I see the movie.

I don't think there's much to worry about because Jackie is incredibly talented and he will do an amazing job.

Also, after watching Freddy vs. Jason I think fans of the Nightmare movies should be thankful they get a chance to make Freddy a BAMF (again?). That movie was dreadful, even if the remake blows it will never be as bad as that one.

So am I. Nightmare on Elm Street was my first horror movie, and has always been my favorite horror movie series.

I just hope the new movie kicks ass and I don't become one of those elitist fans that everyone hates.
