Not the con's fault he injured himself. And that is why you don't spend a ton of money to go to a con centered around a person.
And I'm saying this as someone that flew across the ocean to go see his concert, but if he had to cancel his Cardiff show I would have still had fun because Wales! and London!.If you want to see John go to SDCC, he was there last year and he's there this year, I'll bet he'll be there next year. It's much cheaper and there is so much else to do. Plus you'll have more of a chance to get to really interact with him then at a con where everyone is there to see him.
He really is a lovely man, so good luck meeting him. ^_^
