I'm impressed that anyone can listen to books during their commute. I can barely do it with regular radio. Other drivers can be such cunts.

I find listening to music helps me both focus on the road rather than zoning out and keeping my cool rather than losing it at all the awful Texas drivers.

I wish I could zone out, but some shit stain will run me over without signaling as they change lanes in their own blind spot. Sadly, keeping my distance doesn't fix this.

For me, I'm actually more likely to zone out in silence. Music keeps me alert (I play specific types, I don't play the softer stuff on the road).

Texas drivers do that all the time. They seem allergic to turn signals. Drives me up a wall.

I can't do it while sitting still for five minutes. My mind drifts and I have to rewind the audiobook.

Yeah, me too.
I always find radio too distracting. For me it's either silence or very low instrumental music when I'm on new streets or a CD I've listened to too many times when I'm on my usual commute and I just have to check what other drivers are doing and not where I'm going.
