I actually like genre films that take themselves seriously and think we need more. Tastes vary etc. etc.

And tbh I think the DCEU's biggest issue was the unwillingness to commit to a particular course, not ~pretentiousness. Even now they keep changing things up dramatically every two minutes at the mere whiff of pre-assumed failure...
