I don't know why people complain about a lightsaber to the stomach not being a killing blow in Star Wars. A cauterised gut stab wouldn't necessarily even be a killing blow in real life. People survive actual gut stabbings in real life all the time with medical treatment, and we don't even have magic goo tanks to drop them in.
