I like it as a note of the sort of transliteration that Tolkien played with so Mairon = Admirable = Precious, but i think Melkor being the last person to call Sauron Mairon is also good

Good point. That's part of why I love the idea. It is very tied into Sauron's original name and also his original character that gets twisted (admirable and need to be admired twisting into arrogance and desire for complete control over everything).
