I’m not not familiar with this, but I’ve had this happen to me in other shows, where I was enthusiastic about a pairing right up until they put them together, because of something about how it was done.

marisha's basically producing everything and is creative director right? if there was any pressure, it's probably from herself to create a good romance. i feel like laudna's a very weird combination of oblivious and paranoid and for me that comes through like hesitance.

Marisha's reaction to the love confession was "I made her unromanceable". It's pretty obvious that the romance wasn't pre-planned or even discussed between her and Laura, considering how blindsided she was. And suddenly she had to make the decision between sinking the biggest ship of the campaign and facing the inevitable backlash from the fandom for it, or giving in and accepting the romance despite it not being the direction she wanted to take her character at all. Laudna's hesitance too came across like she was uniterested in a relationship, but didn't want to hurt Imogen so she accepted.
