I realized that the most effective motive to get me writing fanfic is spite and anger. I am pretty sure this is not healthy but its the only emotion that works.

tbh nonny, I started writing hatesex fic about a pair (not pairing) because I was disappointed in an actor's choice of ship. (And then somewhere down the road, I accidentally started to ship that pair... so I guess something good came of it.) So I think you're doing much better than me, who gets hung up on random opinions of folks I will never meet.

Spite is a legit motivator and I feel like as long as what it's motivating you to do isn't hurting yourself or others it's fine.

I mean tbh these days spite for past cyberbullies motivates me to get past insecurity to write the fic I want and love.

Honestly? I kinda feel like I'm more healthy about that than I used to be .

Went from "if people mock me I'll literally die of shame" to "fuck it I write what I want bc my everyday life is stressful enough I deserve to have fun with my hobby"

Yes, I've been on a similar journey and come to a similar conclusion.

Write what I want despite worries that people have said they hate the sorts of fic I want to write. Think about the hate comments on my writings. And keep writing what I want (:
