This is basically me. Except with my current fandom, I was technically there in the beginning. But I've gotten so hyperfixated on the latest "installment" and nobody my age seems to be and it sucks. I also don't want to be like the "creepy old guy in the club," especially not in this age of antis and controlling DNI bullshit, so I keep to myself and just drop fic when I feel like it.

I agree about 2000s fandom. It was nice just jumping into conversation.
