Oh, OP, if that's your thing then boy are you gonna be happy with what's happening to Buggy in the current arc. There is good stuff in your future.

If you're watching the anime, look into One Pace, especially for the later arcs. I personally just watch the original and skip filler episodes when rewatching early One Piece, but One Pace is pretty good from what I've seen and if you mostly just want to get to the Buggy parts, One Pace will save you quite some time. It's a fan project that essentially cuts out filler without destroying the pacing or composition of the episodes.

Honestly, I just read the wiki + tiktok. And I've read all the Cross Guild fics available. Let's hope for more once that is translated into the anime (I think it is just in the manga right now?)

Yes, the Cross Guild stuff is only in the manga at the moment, though I think the anime is getting close. I only check in with the anime for key moments, tbh.

So, coming from the live action, how weird was it to see where Buggy is at right now after 25+ years of story? Aside from Mihawk there's not really much that was already in season 1, right?

I've seen clips here and there from the anime. I honestly just love an idiot that fails upward. It is just a hilarious character type. Also, I know they'll never get to it in the live action (is anyone really expecting Netflix to not cancel after 3 seasons?) but ponytail buggy?? 🥵

I have my hopes for after season 3. I guess it depends on the contracts and the numbers. If it manages to become big enough with season 2 (which is a potential the storyline has) I could see it get renewed for at least season 4 simply because of the storyline that season 4 would cover. It's undisputably one of the best stories in all of One Piece.
