What do you think are the top best episodes of tv. Just everything done right, superb, stand on their own, excellent tv.

The Body on Buffy. Trying to get my sister to watch Buffy just for that.

Midnight from Doctor Who. Way more scary than the Angels.

The Body is good. So well done. I honestly can't rewatch it now, I skipped it on my recent Buffy rewatch. But a really well done Buffy episode.

And yes, Midnight is way more scary than Blink.

I don't get why people hate on Midnight so much! (Not directed at you obviously). It's not my favourite episode because I have difficulties choosing a fave lol, but it's a really good creepy episode and yet people seem to dislike it a lot?

For me, at least some of them would be Vincent and the Doctor, Duet from Deep Space Nine, Passing Through Gethsemane (there are better B5 episodes, I'd say the very best is World Without End, but this one is the best in terms of standing on its own), Hush on Buffy, and You Only Move Twice from the Simpsons.

Hush is one of my favourite Buffy episodes. It's so good.

Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose for X-Files, but it also has a ton of exceptional standalone episodes. Ice, Folie a Deux, Irresistible, Drive, Bad Blood, Beyond the Sea, Monday.

And as I went to post this I thought of more! Home! Paper Hearts! The one with the guy who photographs people dying before they die which I can never remember the name of but is amazing!

"Tithonus" is the one with the death photographer.

I know it's problematic as hell looking back, but I still have a soft spot for Post-Modern Prometheus.

Thank you! I can never remember that and will probably forget it again. I was not a fan of Post-Modern Prometheus at the time and I'm still not, but I know a lot of shippers liked it and still enjoy those parts, if not the rest.

Hardhome from Game of Thrones.

Vichnaya Pamyat from Chernobyl. My dad was watching it and despite being the last episode, it completely sucked me in and got me to watch the rest of the series.

33 from Battlestar Galactica.

I really, really liked the pilot episode of Lost (though, technically it's actually two parts) and if the show had delivered on all of the potential I saw there (or, at least, more than a fraction of it), that would've been a hell of a show. As it was, I dropped at the end of the first season.

Turkeys Away (WKRP in Cincinnati, S1E7) "For those of you who just tuned in, the Pinedale Shopping Mall has just been bombed with live turkeys!"
"As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

All the World's a Stage (Scarecrow and Mrs. King, S3E22) It just had everything that made me love the show - such a lovely blend of suspenseful spycraft and absurdity.

LOST didn't decrease in quality until much later. You should've kept watching.

Scarecrow & Mrs. King! That's a title I haven't heard in a LONG time.

Well, for me, Lost decreased in quality pretty much right off the bat, in that none of the following episodes lived up to the pilot. They were engaging enough that I stuck with it through that first season, but ultimately, wherever the creators were trying to lead to, I didn't want to follow. I am okay with this and I have heard and read enough about the subsequent seasons to know that the promise that I saw in the pilot was not delivered on in any way I hoped it would be. I'm glad that you and others enjoyed it (or some of it), but it wasn't for me. For me, that pilot was just so much wasted potential.
