Am I misreading this or are you doing the bottoming=subbing thing on a post about how annoying that thing is

NAYRT, but I think what they're describing is pretty different to what OP is seeing, where there's a "man" and a "woman" in every relationship. As if bottomming is about a character's inherent womanliness, and submissiveness is a feminine trait, lol.

Liking sub bottoms is fine IMO, it's more the weird heteronormative, patriarchal view on sex roles being imposed on M/M relationships. Like, if you wanna write M/F just write M/F lmao.

Comment OP here and I actually don't mention femininity or masculinity at all in my secret, only that I had het OTPs and ships, and also very much do mention hating when authors conflate subbing and bottoming.

And it's nowhere in my secret but hey, gonna say it here, I fucking loathe when people conflate subbing, bottoming, femininity, and womanhood. Or domming, topping, masculinity, and manhood.

Just gonna go ahead and add to my secret:

Preferred fucking position =/= whether someone's into BDSM at all or a dom or sub =/= their personality =/= their agab =/= their current gender identity.

It's not true in real life, and while it's obviously some people's kink in fiction, it's definitely not mine. Blech.

Like, I don't care what other people like in fiction, it's whatever.

But the anon whose take you were talking about doesn't mention gender identity in their comment, either, just that they like big strong bottoms.

I don't know where you got either of us talking about gender at all.
