I'm asexual but I do read smut sometimes, I never realized it was SUCH a big deal until recently myself. Now I have a friend who legit gags whenever they mention something that "goes against their preference" and I just sit there baffled, because... um. Hm. Ok! Seems weird to me, but whatever.
